The year that was.

Our idea is that campus journalism should be like journalism in the real world. So we started to adopt practices that professional journalists do, like publishing stories as soon as they occur, and planning them out in advance in the form of a ‘content calendar’.

We looked back at the year that was and made this shortlist of Amaranth stories that we believe made an impact in 2017.

A publication without its struggles is impossible. There is no such thing as smooth sailing for people like us.

The BiPSU went big in the preparations for the opening of the SCUAA games. Aerial demonstrations from the PNP skydiving unit, ground demonstrations, doves released to formally open the games and amazing fireworks show that went on for minutes. That one event alone really speaks of how much they prepared for the opening - but with big events, issues are bound to arise.
