The Amaranth is the official student publication of the Visayas State University. It is the voice of the VSU studentry. With a desire to be relevant and up-to-date, the pub regularly publishes one-pagers called Amaranth, Jr. It also producse semestral or annual magazines.
The Amaranth is an autonomous body, by nature, completely independent from the University Administration, Faculty, University Supreme Student Council and other organizations inside and outside the campus in terms of planning, implementation, and direction of its program of action, financial appropriations and disbursements. No forms of censorship or pressure inimical to press freedom, from any source, shall be used on it (Section 3, Article I, Amaranth Charter). The views reflected in its pages, its website, and Facebook page are of its authors and do not necessarily reflect the views and polices of the Visayas State University. |
